Wisconsin Sports Network will be recognizing spring football players in this unique season with WSN Spring Football Awards. Similar to our normal WSN Senior Football Awards, the spring awards will recognize the outstanding players around the state. However, these awards are open to players from all grades, not just seniors.

Over the course of the season we will provide watch lists, semi-finalists, finalists, and winners for the following categories: Offensive Skill player, Offensive Lineman, Defensive Player. The lists have been trimmed down to five finalists, with winners announced next week.

WISSPORTS.NET SPRING FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE Lineman FINALISTS

Trevor Daffinson, G-E-T

Trevor Daffinson was a two-way First Team All-Conference pick in the Coulee this spring as the Red Hawks went 4-1 and finished eighth in the WSN Medium Schools Coaches Poll. It was a run-heavy offense as usual, and G-E-T averaged nearly 340 rushing yards per game, with the 6'3", 230-pound Daffinson clearing the way.

Jack Dotzler, Waunakee

Waunakee was one of the most dominating teams in the state this spring, and the offensive line was a big reason for that success. Jack Dotzler helped keep the talented skill athletes clean and putting up huge numbers. The 6'6", 250-pound junior was outstanding in pass set and very good in drive blocking as well, as the Warriors averaged more than 47 points per game. His improved play was rewarded with a number of scholarship offers this spring, including Penn State and Iowa amongst others.

Levi Liedke, Fond du Lac

Fond du Lac did some amazing things this spring, averaging more than 58 points per game while averaging 403.6 rushing yards per game and 131.3 yards through the air. They put up 71 points and more than 600 yards on Kimberly in the final game of the season. Levi Liedke, a 6'1", 215-pound senior, was the leader up front for head coach Steven Jorgensen, as the Cardinals went wire-to-wire as the number one team in the WSN Large Schools Coaches Poll.

Evan Malcore, Sun Prairie

Evan Malcore (6'6", 270) is only a junior but has already been a two-year starter for the Cardinals. Head coach Brian Kaminski raves about his ability in both the running game and pass blocking, saying he has excellent hand placement and uses good leverage. The Cardinals went unbeaten in this spring season and finished second in the WSN Large School Coaches Poll.

Billy Schrauth, Saint Mary's Springs

Saint Mary's Springs didn't have quite the season many expected as three-time defending state champs, but Billy Schrauth was a dominating presence once again on both offense and defense. One of the top linemen in the entire country, the 6'5", 270-pound junior has offers from a Who's Who of schools around the country, including Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and many others.
