Waunakee junior Jack Dotzler has been selected as the WSN Spring Football Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Waunakee was one of the most dominating teams in the state this spring, and the offensive line was a big reason for that success. Dotzler helped keep the talented skill athletes clean and putting up huge numbers.

One of the most improved and fast-rising players in the state this spring, the 6'6", 250-pound junior was outstanding in pass set and very good in drive blocking as well, as the Warriors averaged more than 47 points per game.

His improved play was rewarded with a number of scholarship offers this spring, including Penn State, Michigan State, and Iowa amongst others.

Other finalists for the award were Trevor Daffison of G-E-T, Levi Liedke of Fond du Lac, Evan Malcore of Sun Prairie, and Billy Schrauth of Saint Mary's Springs.

Wisconsin Sports Network will be recognizing spring football players in this unique season with WSN Spring Football Awards. Similar to our normal WSN Senior Football Awards, the spring awards will recognize the outstanding players around the state. However, these awards are open to players from all grades, not just seniors.

Over the course of the season we will provide watch lists, semi-finalists, finalists, and winners for the following categories: Offensive Skill player, Offensive Lineman, Defensive Player. The lists have been trimmed down to five finalists, with winners announced next week.
