WisSports.net Week 4 Player of the Week Nominees

Leo Brostowicz, Wisconsin Rapids

Wisconsin Rapids remained unbeaten in league play with a 36-20 victory over Wausau West on Friday night. After West pulled with 22-14 with just over four minutes remaining in the game, Rapids running back Leo Brostowitz scored a pair of touchdowns in less than 30 seconds to give the Raiders the cushion they needed. He'd finish the game with 29 carries for 229 yards and five touchdowns, as he accounted for 234 of the team's 285 total yards in the contest.

Frankie Collopy, Marquette

It was a battle of desperate teams Friday as Marquette and Menomonee Falls met up seeking their first victory of the season. It is a far cry from last year, when Menomonee Falls won a second straight Greater Metro Conference title and Marquette tied for second. Marquette got some huge plays in the passing game to get back on the right track in a 28-13 win. Senior receiver Frankie Collopy caught 12 passes for 263 yards and four touchdowns in the victory, including a pair of first quarter scores. Collopy also made his presence felt on special teams, returning three kickoffs for 95 yards.

Connor Ducklow, Spring Valley

Spring Valley took down Division 6, third-ranked Boyceville 35-6 on Friday. The Cardinals jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead, as quarterback Connor Ducklow had a hand in all three scores, throwing two touchdowns and rushing for another. He finished nine-of-11 passing in the game for 280 yards with three touchdowns through the air. Ducklow added seven carries for 36 yards and a score on the ground, contributing six tackles on defense as well.

Spenser Lehman, Mauston

Mauston hosted Adams-Friendship on Saturday looking to keep pace with the top of the South Central Conference. Adams-Friendship grabbed a 12-6 lead early in the third quarter, but Mauston came roaring back with 34 second half points to score a 40-28 win. Senior quarterback Spenser Lehman had a big game, completing 25-of-31 passes for 339 yards and four touchdowns. He added a three-yard touchdown run as well to help the Golden Eagles secure the victory.

Taylor Walter, Watertown

Beaver Dam and Watertown met up for the 99th time on Saturday in a rivalry that dates to 1904. It was one of the most exciting contests in the series, with several school records established. The teams combined for 1,001 yards of offense, but it was Watertown that eeked out a 49-41 victory. Goslings running back Taylor Walter had a huge day, running 32 times for 236 yards and five touchdowns. He also added a reception for 37 yards in the victory.
