Onalaska freshman Manny Putz has been selected as the RallyAroundUs Athlete of the Week for the week of September 6-12 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 6,323 total votes this week. Putz topped all vote getters with 2,839 votes. Kenosha Tremper's Cash Raethke came in second with 2,483 votes.

The Onalaska boys cross country team competed at Luther College (IL) Invitational on Saturday where 27 teams from three different states competed. Putz, just a freshman came out on top of the entire field. With a time of 16 minutes and 9.96 seconds, Putz took home the individual title while also fueling Onalaska to a team win at the invite. The Hilltoppers had a team score of 38, which blew away the second place finisher.
