Trey Colts of Cambridge has been selected as the Week 5 Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day put him in the state's all-time top five in single-game rushing yards. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 5. A total of 4,539 votes were cast, as Colts' 1,669 were enough to edge out second place Cole Evavold of River Falls, who tallied 1,223 votes.

Cambridge ran for more than 500 yards as a team in a 53-7 victory over Dodgeland on Friday, with most of the damage done by senior running back Trey Colts. He carried the ball just 20 times, but went for 444 yards and six touchdowns on the ground, averaging 22.2 yards per carry. His rushing total is seventh-most in state history. Colts also caught two passes for 29 yards and a touchdown while adding five tackles on defense.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named WisSports.net Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 6 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
