The Fort Atkinson Blackhawks have been selected as the Week 6 WSN Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team scored a big win over Baraboo to take over sole possession of first place in the Badger-Small. The Blackhawks were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 6. A total of 7,267 votes were cast, as Fort Atkinson's 2,283 votes edged Augusta's 1,727 votes.

Fort Atkinson last made the playoffs in 2016 and endured a 19-game losing streak over the course of several seasons before scoring a couple victories in the alternate 2021 spring schedule. Now, the Blackhawks are alone in first place in the Badger-Small after knocking off previously unbeaten Baraboo 26-7 on Friday night. The defense limited Baraboo's ground attack to just 115 yards on 34 carries and picked off three passes to control things on that side of the ball, while the Fort Atkinson ground game saw two players go over the century mark: Cade Cosson and Alec Courtier.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 7 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
