By Travis Wilson

Gabe Klatt of Beaver Dam has been selected as the Week 7 Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day set a new school record at Beaver Dam. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 7. A total of 4,903 votes were cast, as Klatt's 1,849 were enough to edge out second place Joe Ollman of Homestead, who tallied 1,150 votes.

Beaver Dam sophomore running back Gabe Klatt set a new school record with 398 rushing yards on 35 carries with six touchdowns as the Golden Beavers downed Janesville Craig 38-27. Klatt's big day broke the previous mark held by R.J. Shelton, who would go on to play at Michigan State.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named WisSports.net Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 8 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
