The Wisconsin Dells Chiefs have been selected as the Week 9 WSN Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team scored a big win over Mauston to claim an outright league championship. The Chiefs were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 9. A total of 3,570 votes were cast, as Wisconsin Dells' 1,768 votes edged Sun Prairie's 586 votes.

Wisconsin Dells had already wrapped up at least a share of the South Central Conference title, but with a 40-32 win over Mauston on Friday the Chiefs secured their first outright league title in 35 years. It was nip-and-tuck all game, with Mauston taking a 32-27 lead on a blocked punt return early in the fourth quarter. The Chiefs remained calm, and Jacob Rockwell went in for a 20-yard touchdown a few plays later while Braden Buss hit Will Michalsky for a touchdown two minutes later to provide the final margin of victory. Rockwell finished with 135 yards and two scores on the ground, while Buss completed eight-of-15 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 1 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
