Level 2 WisSports.net Team of the Week Nominees

Boyceville Bulldogs

Boyceville finished second in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference this season, and in Level 1 of the WIAA playoffs drew Heart O'North Conference runner-up Cumberland. The Bulldogs trailed at halftime, but two scores in the third quarter pulled them ahead and they held on for a 20-14 upset victory. It wasn't pretty offensively, with just 218 yards of offense, but they did enough to get the job done and the defense came up big, especially in the second half.

Jefferson Eagles

Jefferson led Martin Luther the entire game, but the Eagles had to hold on late for a 21-20 victory, turning away a potential go-ahead two-point conversion with 2:38 remaining to secure the win. Jefferson went up 21-7 on the first play of the fourth quarter when Patrick Rogers scored from 11 yards out, but Martin Luther would score two touchdowns in the final eight minutes to threaten. Jefferson's ground game led the way with 235 yards and three touchdowns on 51 carries, but quarterback Evan Neitzel had three key completed passes for 65 yards as well.

Kettle Moraine Lasers

Kettle Moraine was well-tested in the Classic Eight Conference this year and used that experience to take down third-seeded Racine Horlick 17-6 in a game that saw all of the points scored in the first half. Horlick scored first and led 6-0 after the first quarter, but Kettle Moraine owned the second quarter, getting a short touchdown run by Nolan Schopp as well as a Chase Spellman to Schopp touchdown. Chase Matszczyk added a 24-yard field goal at the end of the half to boost the lead to two scores, as the defense did the rest, limiting Horlick to 181 yards of offense in the game.

Lancaster Flying Arrows

Lancaster isn't used to going on the road in the postseason, but the Flying Arrows did just that in Level 1, rallying from a 16-6 halftime deficit to defeat Luther 26-16. The Arrows still trailed 16-14 heading into the final quarter, when Jacob DiVall scored twice, once on the ground and once through the air, lift Lancaster in front. DiVall finished with 174 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries, adding the game-sealing 30-yard touchdown catch as well.

New Berlin Eisenhower

New Berlin Eisenhower started the season 0-4 with three straight shutout losses at one point and was in danger of missing the playoffs. However, the Lions rallied in a big way, winning four of the final five games to squeak into the playoffs. The momentum continued in Level 1, as Eisenhower went on the road and beat Badger-Small Conference co-champion Fort Atkinson 10-0. The defense earned MVP honors after limiting Fort Atkinson to just 77 total yards. Max Ringwall ran for 120 yards and the game's only touchdown as the Lions advance to face sixth-seeded Jefferson.
