Marquette, Oregon, Shorewood, Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran win boys soccer titles

Two of the four state title games were decided by shootout as state champions were crowned at the 2021 WIAA boys soccer state championships on Saturday.

In Division 1, Marquette downed Hudson 1-0 for the title, as Sean Dankert scored the only goal of the game at the 32:02 mark. Marquette defeated De Pere 3-0 in a Thursday semi-final, while Hudson took down Verona 1-0.

Noah Malcook scored a pair of second half goals to help Oregon to a 3-1 victory against Whitefish Bay in the Division 2 championship contest. The top-seeded Panthers beat River Falls in the first state semi-final on Friday, while Whitefish Bay got past Brookfield Central 3-2.

The Division 3 title game was scoreless and went to a shootout, where Shorewood topped Notre Dame four to three. Shorewood, the top seed in D3, beat Rice Lake 4-0 in the semi-finals, while Notre Dame was a 3-0 victor against McFarland.

The Division 4 championship was scoreless as well, with Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran winning five to four over top-seeded Oostburg. The Sheboygan co-op beat St. John's Northwestern Academies 2-0 in a semi-final, with Oostburg defeating Arcadia 4-0.
