Level 3 WSN Football Player of the Week Nominees

The WisSports.net Player of the Week is back again for 2021. Voting is featured at the bottom of this article. Voting is open until Thursday at 4 pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word (hint: Social Media is a great way to do so). Users may vote once per day.

WisSports.net Level 3 Player of the Week Nominees

Colton Brunell, Columbus

Columbus wasn't even sure who they would play until Friday afternoon due to the Edgewood lawsuit, but when it turned out to be Kewaskum, the Cardinals were more than ready, racing out to a 34-0 halftime lead in a 44-7 Level 3 victory. Columbus had 434 yards on the ground, with 249 of those by sophomore running back Colton Brunell, who had three touchdowns on just ten carries. He also caught a 27-yard pass in the dominating performance.

Myles Burkett, Franklin

Wisconsin Badgers recruit Myles Burkett continued his amazing season, completing 16-of-19 passes for 353 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in a 35-7 win over Bay Port that saw him post a perfect 158.3 passer rating. Burkett retook the lead in passing yards for the season with 2,795, as he's up to 31 touchdowns on the year.

Rory Fox, Catholic Memorial

Catholic Memorial dominated Denmark on Friday in a Division 4, Level 3 contest, winning 44-0 with all the points coming before halftime. Senior quarterback Rory Fox was incredibly efficient, completing 10-of-12 passes for 178 yards and four touchdowns, posting a perfect 158.3 passer rating. He also had 29 yards on five carries for the Crusaders, who are looking to defending their 2019 Division 4 state title.

Wyatt Jensen, Luck

Luck was pushed the whole way against Wabeno/Laona but the Cardinals had the answers each time in securing a 40-36 win to advance to the 8-player state championship game. Many of those answers came in the form of runs by Wyatt Jensen. He carried it 23 times for 262 yards and five touchdowns, including a pair of fourth quarter scores to held hold off the Rebels. He also completed two passes for 106 yards and a score.

Peter Kuchta, Coleman

In a showdown of unbeaten teams, Coleman's Peter Kuchta scored the first points of the game on a three-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. he added a 25-yard touchdown catch a short time later as the Cougars led 14-0 at halftime. With Hurley driving into Coleman territory early in the third quarter, Kuchta intercepted a Northstars pass and returned it 72 yards for a touchdown. He finished with five carries for 80 yards plus the 25-yard reception, as well as the Pick-6 in an impressive 36-6 victory over Hurley.
