Newman Catholic dominated Luck 49-6 to claim the 2021 8-Player state championship at Wisconsin Rapids High School on Saturday afternoon.

After falling to Luck in the 2019 title game, Newman got a measure of revenge this time around. The Cardinals led 7-0 after the first quarter before a second quarter explosion, scoring 35 points to take a 42-6 lead into halftime. The second half was a running clock the entire way.

Conner Krach was the standout offensively, rushing for 128 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries, adding 131 yards and two scores through the air.

It would have been a tough challenge for Luck anyways, but the Cardinals were without star two-way player Wyatt Jensen, who struggled through the semi-final game last week before a leg injury kept him out of the championship game.

Luck managed just 87 yards of offense in the game, the bulk of it by Connor Svoboda, who ran for 71 yards and the team's only score on 14 carries.
