Week 1 WisSports.net Girls Basketball Coaches Poll

Division 1

Hortonville is the top-ranked team in the first WisSports.net Coaches Poll of the 2021-22 season. The Polar Bears are 4-0 so far this season which includes a 96-72 victory against defending Division 1 state champion Germantown at the Kettle Moraine Thanksgiving Classic. Appleton East (3-0) has notable wins over defending D2 state champion Notre Dame (63-45) and Verona (65-49) and is right behind FVA foe Hortonville in the rankings. Rounding out the top five are Kettle Moraine, Germantown, and Arrowhead. 

Division 2

Reedsburg is the top team in the initial WSN Coaches Poll in Division 2. The Beavers are 3-0 which includes a 66-52 victory against DeForest. Defending D2 state champion Notre Dame is No. 2; the Tritons defeated Pewaukee, 67-60, to open their season and their loss was against D1 No. 2 Appleton East. The rest of the top five includes Pewaukee, New Berlin Eisenhower, and Beaver Dam. 

Division 3

Waupun earns the No. 1 ranking in the first WisSports.net Coaches Poll of the season. The Warriors are 3-0 so far this season with a notable win over Prairie du Chien, 71-60, at the Beaver Dam Classic during the opening weekend of the season. Freedom checks in at No. 2 in the coaches poll and is followed by Wrightstown, Edgerton, and Prairie du Chien in the top five. 

Division 4

Aquinas is the top-ranked team in the initial D4 WSN Coaches Poll. The Blugolds, which were last year's D3 state runner-up, opened the season with a 58-42 win over Lakeland. Their loss came against a strong Dowling Catholic (IA) squad, 50-47, last weekend. Last year's state runner-up Mineral Point is off to a 3-0 start and is right behind Aquinas in the voting. Westfield, Brodhead, and Kenosha St. Jospeh are also in the top five in the first coaches poll of the 2021-22 season. 

Division 5

McDonell Central, a state qualifier last season, is the No. 1 team in the first WSN Coaches Poll of the season. The Macks opened the year with a 58-36 win over Ladysmith. The rest of the top five includes Randolph, defending state champion Assumption, Blair-Taylor, and Highland.
