After guiding Kimberly to a state record 70-game winning streak that spanned from 2013 to 2018 as well as five state championships (plus a runner-up finish), Steve Jones has announced his resignation as the Papermakers' head football coach and teacher following the completion of the 2021-22 school year.

"I would like to thank the administration, faculty, students, and community for an amazing 16 years in the Kimberly School District," Jones said in a statement. "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our incredible coaching staff, past players, and current players for their unwavering commitment and dedication to our football program.

"I am very proud of what we were able to accomplish both on and off the field. I am so thankful for the relationships that were built and the memories that were made along the way."

Jones has become a much-desired public speaker and leadership coach over the years, including a recently published book, "The Twin Thieves: How Great Leaders Build Great Teams".

"Leadership development has always been a passion of mine," said Jones. "Over the past several years I have fallen in love with speaking, consulting, and writing. I want to fully pursue this passion in the next stage of my life."

Jones was hired as the head coach at Kimberly in 2011 and was named the Packers/WFCA Coach of the Year in Wisconsin three times. The Papermakers went 11-1 in the 2021 season, winning the Fox Valley Association title before going out in Level 3 of the playoffs against rival Appleton North.
