MEN’S BASKETBALL

Eddie Muench, Senior (Ripon, Wis./Ripon), Guard of UW-Oshkosh 

Muench averaged 22.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.5 steals as UW-Oshkosh improved its winning streak to nine games with home victories over St. Norbert College (Wis.), Calvin University (Mich.) and Ripon College (Wis.). Muench compiled 67 points in the three contests by shooting 50 percent (23-46) from the field and 86.7 percent (13-15) from the free throw line. He made 8 of 22 3-point shots (36.4 percent), while counting 16 rebounds (14 defensive), six assists and three steals and one blocked shot. During UW-Oshkosh’s 73-54 win over St. Norbert College on Dec. 21, Muench scored 14 points with six rebounds and one assist in 34 minutes of activity. Muench played his next two games at the UW-Oshkosh BSN Sports Winter Classic and was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after leading UW-Oshkosh to a pair of victories. During UW-Oshkosh’s 78-56 win over Calvin University on Dec. 29, Muench scored a career-high 30 points with six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one blocked shot in 34 minutes of playing time. He connected on 11 of 21 shots from the field and 6 of 8 free throws. In the Titans’ 86-59 victory over Ripon College on Dec. 30, Muench tallied 23 points with four rebounds, two assists and two steals in 35 minutes of action. He made 7 off 11 shots from the field and all five free throws.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL 

Raegan Sorensen, Freshman (Centuria, Wis./Unity), Guard of UW-Stout 

Sorensen threatened the school individual game scoring record when she pumped in 36 points – three short of tying the record - in an 89-74 win over Aurora University (Ill.) on Dec. 28. Sorensen was 11 of 14 from the field with a 3-pointer and 13 of 18 from the free throw line. She checked off her second double-double of the season with 11 rebounds. She contributed two assists, one blocked shot and one steal with no turnovers in 28 minutes off the bench. In two other games, Sorensen scored 12 points in a 73-67 loss to Finlandia University (Mich.) on Dec. 21, and 13 points in a 69-53 loss to Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.). Over three games, Sorensen averaged 20.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocked shots.
