The WSN Cup is an award that honors schools that provide and achieve success in many of the WIAA sponsored sports. The award totals points earned in both boys and girls sports. All WIAA sponsored sports are included as part of the scoring for the award.

The WSN Cup was not awarded during the 2020-21 school season as many schools were hindered in their participation due to the COVID-19 virus.

Middleton has won the past two Large School Division (enrollment over 1,000) trophies coming in 2018-19 and 2019-20. Again, the Cardinals lead the way after the fall sports season. They earned a state title in girls cross country along with third place finishes in both girls swim/dive and girls golf. Middleton scored points in all nine fall sports leading the way in the Large School Division with 415 points. Arrowhead, who had won 11 straight WSN Large School Division trophies before Middleton's streak, stands in second place with 331 points. Appleton North, Brookfield Central and Franklin round out the top five.

Shorewood is looking to repeat their Medium Schools Division (enrollment between 500 and 1,000) title from 2019-20 and are currently at the top of the standings after the fall sports season. State titles in both boys cross country and boys soccer and a runner-up in girls cross country account for a majority of the 345 points for the Greyhounds. Two-Time Medium Schools Division winner Catholic Memorial is second in the standings and just behind Shorewood, with 313.5 points. Whitefish Bay, Notre Dame and Marquette round out the top five in the rankings.

Edgewood has six Medium School trophies to its name, but the Crusaders enrollment has been under 500 for the past four years dropping it into the Small Schools Division. The Crusaders have won the past two Small Schools Division trophies and come out of the fall sports season atop the standings yet again. The Crusaders took home gold in girls swimming and diving and have scored points in three other sports to get them to their leading 237 points. Eight time Small Schools Division winner Aquinas sits in second place with 225 total points. Valders, Regis and Lake Country Lutheran account for the rest of the top five.

Divisions - Starting in 2008-09 schools will be placed in three divisions. The Large School Division is for schools with enrollment over 1000. Medium Schools are classified as 500 to 1000 and Small School division is below 500. In 2007-08 schools with enrollments of 900 or more were in the large school division while schools with enrollments up to 900 were in the small schools division.

Points - Points are awarded for finishes in the state tournament of every team sport. Generally, the top 32 teams in each sport are awarded points. If less than 32 teams participate in a non-bracket sport state meet then those are the only schools that are awarded points. For Co-op teams the total points are divided equally amongst all schools in the co-op.
