RallyAroundUs Athlete of the Week: January 17-23

Below are the RallyAroundUs Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of January 17 through 23. Voting is open until Thursday at 4 pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

RallyAroundUs Athlete of the Week Nominees: January 17-23

Jamir Allen, Wisconsin Lutheran boys basketball: Wisconsin Lutheran is ranked second in the WSN Boys Basketball Division 2 Coaches Poll. Allen plays a key role on one of the top teams in the entire state. Last week in a 71-66 win over Brookfield Central, the junior guard had 24 points, five rebounds and three assists. He followed it up with 13 points, five rebounds and three assists in an 85-46 win over South Milwaukee. Wisconsin Lutheran then faced off with Minnehaha Academy at the annual Wisconsin vs Minnesota Border Battle. Allen scored a team high 21 points and added five assists and six steals.

Kamorea "KK" Arnold, Germantown girls basketball: Arnold, the top player in the state of Wisconsin, led Germantown to a trio of victories this past week. She began by scoring 30 points and adding 13 rebounds in a 92-59 win over Kettle Moraine. The UConn commit then had 27 points and five rebounds in an 82-45 win Menomonee Falls. Arnold finished off the week scoring 26 points and hauling in seven rebounds in a 76-60 win over Oak Creek. Through the three games, she also averaged three assists and over four steals per game.

Tristan McRoberts, Melrose-Mindoro boys basketball: McRoberts has led the Mustangs to a 9-5 record so far this season and three wins this past week. In a 73-37 win over Independence, the senior wing filled the stat sheet with 24 points, nine rebounds, six assists, five steals and three blocks. He followed that up with 36 points, 17 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals in a 70-39 win over Augusta. McRoberts, who is nearing 1,000 points in his prep career, finished off the week with 33 points in a 58-51 win over Alma/Pepin.

Blair Watters, Mineral Point girls basketball: Mineral Point is one of the few undefeated teams in the state, standing at 17-0 on the season. Watters has been a steadying force for the Pointers all year and continued that in a pair of impressive wins last week. First in a 61-28 win over Black Hawk, she scored 12 points and added eight rebounds, four assists and five steals. Mineral Point then matched up with one loss Belleville. Watters led Point to a 67-47 win by scoring 16 points, while adding seven rebounds, five assists and six steals.

McKayla Zilisch, Fox Cities Stars girls hockey: Zilisch helped the Stars secure a trio of wins this past week on the ice, adding to her state leading point total. In a 4-3 win over the Central Wisconsin Storm, Zilisch netted herself a hat trick. She followed it up with another hat trick and an assist in a 6-0 win over Arrowhead. The senior forward finished with two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win over the Eau Claire Area Stars. Zilisch leads the state with 57 points scored this season.
