Hudson and Rice Lake claimed boys hockey championships while the D.C. Everest co-op won a girls title at the WIAA Hockey State Tournaments held Saturday at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.

Hudson put together a dominating weekend, as the top-seeded Raiders blanked fourth-seeded University School of Milwaukee 6-0 in the Division 1 semi-finals. In that game, Hudson out-shot the Wildcats 49-1. After going up early in the state title game against Edgewood, the game was tied at two midway through the second period. However, Hudson pulled away with the game's final four goals to secure a 6-2 win its sixth state title.

Rice Lake got over the hump in its fourth state tournament appearance to capture the program's first title in Division 2. After falling behind 1-0, the Warriors rallied to defeat Lakeland 3-1 in a semi-final Thursday morning. In Saturday's championship tilt, it was a back-and-forth affair with Saint Mary's Springs but Rice Lake would hold on for a 4-3 victory.

After top-seeded Xavier co-op went down to fourth-seeded Onalaska co-op in the first game of the girls hockey state tournament, things opened up for second-seeded D.C. Everest co-op to take control. They defeated the Middleton co-op 4-1 in an opening semi-final, then downed the Onalaska co-op 5-0 in the championship game behind a hat trick from Samantha Federici plus two goals by Gabi Heuser. It is the program's fourth girls hockey title.
