WBCA announces Division 4 Girls Basketball All-State Team

Headlining Division 4 WBCA all-state team are three repeat selections: Macy Donarski and Jacy Weisbrod of Aquinas, and Mallory Lindsey of Mineral Point. 

Donarski, who is committed to NCAA Division I Saint Louis University, led Aquinas to a sectional semifinal, losing to state champion Mineral Point, to finish the year with a 21-5 record. The 5-8 point guard tallied 17.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 5.3 steals per game for coach and father Dave Donarski and the Blugolds. Donarski has helped the Blugolds to two state tournament appearances, including finishing as the Division 3 state runner-up last season. She will enter her senior year with 1,131 career points. 

Weisbrod, an NCAA Division I Northern Colorado signee, helped lead the Blugolds to a sectional play and a 21-5 overall record. The 6-0 wing/guard scored a team-high 21.2 points per game and finished second in the state with 106 three-pointers made. She also contributed 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.7 steals per contest for coach Donarski and the Blugolds. Weisbrod concluded her career with 1,491 points. 

Lindsey, an NCAA Division III UW-Oshkosh commit, led Mineral Point to a perfect 30-0 record and the program’s second state title. The 5-4 guard averaged 15.9 points and connected on a state-best 109 three-pointers. Mallory also tallied 3.3 assists and 2.6 steals per game for coach Michael Keyes and the Pointers. Lindsey, who helped the Pointers finish as the state runner-up as a junior, was named the SWAL Player of the Year and ended her high school career with 1,131 points. 

JJ Barnes led The Prairie School to the Metro Classic title and a 24-3 overall as a freshman. The 5-8 guard averaged 20.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.4 steals per game for coach Abby Garchek-Jaramillo and the Hawks. Barnes already holds a number of NCAA Division I offers. 

Bridee Burks, an NCAA Division I Idaho State signee, led Lancaster to an 18-8 record. The Flying Arrows advanced to a regional final, falling to state champion Mineral Point. Burks, a 5-10 guard,  averaged 13.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.6 steals per contest for coach Mark Uppena and the Flying Arrows. Bridee finished her career with 912 points. 

Carly Drew led Westfield to its second consecutive trip to the state tournament. The Pioneers finished the year 27-2 overall, falling to undefeated state champion Mineral Point in a state semifinal. Drew, a 5-8 guard, averaged 19.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 4.2 steals per contest for coach Luke Showen and the Pioneers. Carly helped Westfield advance to state in Division 3 last season. She will enter her junior year with 903 career points. 

Jada Eggebrecht, an NCAA Division II St. Cloud State signee, led Phillips to a sectional final appearance, losing to Neillsville, and ending the season with a 25-3 record. The 5-9 guard guard averaged 23.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 4.5 steals per game for coach Mike Eggebrecht and the Loggers. Jada ends her career 12th on the state’s all-time scoring list with 2,184 points. 

Nakiyah Hurst led Milwaukee Academy of Science to a 20-3 overall record and a regional final appearance. The 6-0 wing tallied 20.2 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 3.1 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game for coach Giovanni Riley and the Lady Novas. Hurst, who helped MAS reach the state tournament as a freshman, scored over 1,100 points in her career. 

Tierney Madigan helped Laconia finish as the state runner-up in her debut season. The 5-10 guard averaged 11.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per contest for coach Chris Morgan and the Spartans which captured the Flyway title and ended the year with a 25-5 record. 

Lindsey Schadewalt led New Glarus to a sectional final, falling to state champion Mineral Point, and posting a 21-8 overall record. The 5-10 guard averaged 19.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game for coach Kevin Parman and the Glarner Knights. Schadewalt also shot 63-for-153 on three-pointers. She was named Capitol South Player of the Year and will enter her junior year with 892 career points. 

Blair Watters, an NCAA Division III UW-Platteville commit, helped lead Mineral Point to the state championship with a perfect 30-0 record. The 6-0 forward tallied 13.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 4.4 steals per game for coach Keyes and the Pointers. Watters, a first-team all-SWAL pick, scored 766 points in her career. She helped the Pointers finish as the state runner-up last season.
