Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN Senior Basketball Awards.

The finalists for the top senior defensive players have been selected. The winner will be announced the week after the state tournament. 

Leon Bond, 6-5, Wauwatosa East 
The mobility, length, athleticism and basketball instincts of Bond made him a highly sought after recruit last summer. He eventually signed with Virginia and then went out and enjoyed a strong senior season for a Wauwatosa East program that lost four starters from last year's WIAA Division 1 state-title team. He averaged 21.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals while leading Wauwatosa East in blocked shots.

Ryan Carew, 6-3, Whitefish Bay
Carew helped Whitefish Bay to a third-place finish in the North Shore Conference by leading the team in scoring (17.4 ppg), rebounding (5.1 rpg), assists (3.3 apg) and steals (1.8 spg). The long 6-foot-3 wing also had the challenge of guarding some outstanding backcourt players and more than held his own. His stellar all-around play helped Whitefish Bay to a 17-9 record.

Brennen Dvorachek, 6-4, Reedsville
One of the more versatile and productive players in the state, Dvorachek led Reedsville to the title in the Big East North Conference by averaging 20.1 points, 12.7 rebounds,, 5.0 assists, 2.8 steals and 2.1 blocked shots. His anticipation, athleticism and length on defense was an important piece to Reedsville's success.

Luke Webb, 6-7, Elmwood/Plum City
In addition to leading Elmwood/Plum City in scoring (18.4 ppg) and rebounding (12.8), Webb also proved to be a defensive demon. He blocked 90 shots in 26 games (3.5 bspg) to rank among the state leaders in that category. He also averaged nearly 2.0 steals per game. The versatile forward was named Player of the Year in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference.

Brock Wester, 6-8, Iola-Scandinavia
At 6-foot-8 and extremely mobile, Wester had the ability to guard opponent's top offensive threats on the perimeter and in the paint. He helped Iola-Scandinavia to a 27-1 record and a spot in the WIAA Division 3 sectional finals, averaging 10.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 blocked shots. His ability to move laterally and stay in front of smaller players was vital to Iola-Scandinavia's success.
