Hortonville's Kamy Peppler has been selected as the top senior point guard as part of the WSN Senior Basketball Awards

Peppler is a dynamic point guard who can control the game with her passing and scoring. She is also a strong defender who uses her quickness to get steals and deflections.

She was named Ms. Basketball by the WBCA and is a three-time first-team WBCA all-state selection.

Peppler, a 5-6 point guard, averaged 13.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 3.3 steals per game with 45 three-pointers made for the coach Celeste Ratka and Polar Bears.

Kamy scored a career-best 32 points in an 81-66 win over FVA foe Appleton East on January 7. Hortonville captured the Fox Valley Association title with an undefeated record and advanced to Division 1 sectional play, finishing the year with a 24-2 record.

She shot 46.7 percent from the field, 81 percent from the free throw line, and 36.6 on three-pointers.

Peppler was voted unanimous first-team all-Fox Valley Association and was named co-player of the year of the conference.

The NCAA Division I Milwaukee Panthers signee finished her career with 1,201 points, nearly 475 assists, and over 304 steals, leading Hortonville to an 85-20 record with two state tournament appearances.

The finalists for the award were Peppler, Ja'cia Cunningham of Milwaukee School of Languages, Leah Lemke of Wrightstown, Aaliyah Smith of Madison La Follette, and Ashlyn Yow of Waukesha West.

Past winners of the award include Bailey Butler of Black Hawk (2021), Lexi Donarski of Aquinas (2020), Sydney Hilliard of Monroe (2019), Kari Brekke of Appleton North (2018), Cassidy Trotter of Beaver Dam (2017), Hannah Whitish of Barneveld (2016), Gabby Green of Pius XI (2015), Gabrielle Ortiz of The Prairie School (2014), Taylor Schmidt of Algoma (2013), and Nicole Bauman of New Berlin Eisenhower (2012).
