Brookfield Central's Rohde picked as top wing in senior class

Andrew Rohde of Brookfield Central has been selected as the top senior Wing as part of the WSN Senior Basketball Awards

A 6-foot-7 guard, Rohde led Brookfield Central to a 24-6 record and runner-up finish in both the WIAA Division 1 State Tournament and in the Greater Metro Conference standings. He did it all for coach Dan Wandrey and the Lancers, averaging 28.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 2.2 steals.

The NCAA Division I recruit for the University of St. Thomas earned first-team all-Greater Metro honors and shot 47 percent from the field, 71 percent from the foul line and 38 percent from three-point range. Rohde made 104-of-277 attempts from beyond the arc. 

Rohde completed his brilliant four-year varsity career with 1,469 points and scored a career-best 51 points as a senior in a league-win over Milwaukee Marquette. 

Finalists for the award were Rohde, Steven Clay of Menomonee Falls, Danilo Jovanovich of Whitnall, Luke Haertle of Lake Country Lutheran, Luke Pautz of Roncalli and Marcus Tomashek of Ashwaubenon. 

Past winners of the award include Cam Palesse of Waukesha West (2021), Johnny Davis of La Crosse Central (2020), Marcus Domask of Waupun (2019), Tyler Herro of Whitnall (2018), Kobe King of La Crosse Central (2017), Sam Hauser of Stevens Point (2016), Henry Ellenson of Rice Lake (2015), Kevon Looney of Milwaukee Hamilton (2014), Nick Fuller of Sun Prairie (2013), and Sam Dekker of Sheboygan Lutheran (2012).
