RallyAroundUs Athlete of the Week Nominees: Mar. 27 - Apr. 3

Sophia Bablitch, Rosholt girls track and field: Bablitch swept a trio of races this past weekend at the Rosholt home track invite. The sophomore distance runner won the 800 meter with a time of 2:32.05. She then won the 1,600 meter in 5:27.77. Bablitch finished her day off taking home her third, first place finish in the 3,200 meter race with a time of 12:44.71.

Brock Bennington, Columbus Catholic baseball: Columbus Catholic was dominant in its first game of the season, beating Phillips 16-5. Bennington was equally dominant at the plate. The senior slugger went four of four from the plate with a home run and four RBIs. Bennington also scored four times as the Dons began the season on a tear.

Paige Cotton, Union Grove girls soccer: Cotton has come out on fire on the pitch for Union Grove through a pair of wins. In a 5-0 win over Kenosha Tremper the senior midfielder netted a hat trick. Cotton followed that up with four more goals in a 5-0 win over Kenosha Indian Trail. Her seven goals in two matches are obviously a state leading through the first week.

Riley Grudzielanek, Oak Creek softball: Grudzielanek was one walk away from a perfect start to the 2022 softball season. In a three-inning, 18-0 shutout of Racine Horlick, the junior pitcher struck out nine batters, and only walked one, meaning no batter put the ball in play through the three-inning contest. In addition to pitching a no-hitter, Grudzielanek went three for three from the plate with a home run, five RBIs, and one run scored.

Mitch Voit, Whitefish Bay baseball: Voit, like Grudzielanek, was so close to being perfect in his first game of the 2022 season. The senior and Michigan commit pitched a five-inning no hitter in a 15-0 win over Greenfield. Voit struck out twelve batters and walked one. He added three hits from the plate to go along with his dominance on the mound.
