Hometown Ticketing Athlete of the Week Nominees: Apr. 4-10

Cal Fisher, Deerfield baseball: Fisher began this season on an absolute terror at the plate. In a season opening 15-1 win, he pitched four innings, gave up a hit and struck out six batters, being the winning pitcher on record. From the plate Fisher went three for four with three RBI's and one run scored. Deerfield then went on to win one more game over Rio by a score of 7-2 and swept a pair of games over Parkview by a combined 28-0 score. Fisher, a Notre Dame commit, six for eight from the plate with three singles, a double and two home runs. He added six RBIs, eight runs scored and two stolen bases in the three wins.

Kayla Preiss, Germantown softball: Preiss was a tough out in Germantown's lone game of the week and season against Wauwatosa East. The freshman slugger went two for three from the plate in the 16-5 rout. Preiss had a triple and a home run, driving in six runs and scoring two herself.

Taylor Schad, Kiel girls soccer: Schad was unstoppable on the soccer pitch this past week as Kiel won a trio of games. First in a 7-2 win over Omro, the junior netted a hat trick. She followed that up with five more goals in an 11-0 win over Roncalli. Schad finished the week netting all five goals in a 5-1 win over Cedar Grove-Belgium. Thirteen goals in three matches is quite the feat for the junior footballer.

Sydney Vitangcol, Wisconsin Lutheran softball: Vitangcol played her first varsity game this past week and had quite the debut. The freshman pitched a seven-inning complete game in a 7-2 win over New Berlin Eisenhower. Vitangcol struck out 16 batters while allowing four hits and two unearned runs. She went one for two from the plate with two walks and two runs scores. Vitangcol then went two for four with three RBIs and one run scored in a 10-0 win over West Allis Central.

Cam Wnek, Kimberly boys track and field: Wnek won an individual and was part of a relay winning team this past weekend at the Wisconsin State Indoor Track and Field Championships at UW-Whitewater. First, Wnek set the state-meet's record in the 60 meter hurdles, winning the race in 8.41 seconds. He then was a part of the 4x200 meter winning relay that finished with a time of 1:31.98. Wnek helped the Kimberly boys team win the overall team title.
