The WSN Cup is an award that honors schools that provide and achieve success in many of the WIAA sponsored sports. The award totals points earned in both boys and girls sports. All WIAA sponsored sports are included as part of the scoring for the award.

The WSN Cup was not awarded during the 2020-21 school season as many schools were hindered in their participation due to the COVID-19 virus.

Arrowhead had won 11 consecutive Large Schools Division (enrollment over 1000 students) trophies before the 2018-19 season before Middleton won it in 2018-19 and 2019-20. After the falls sports season, Arrowhead was over 80 points behind Middleton, but the Warhawks have regained the top of the standings after the winter season. A second place finish in boys swimming and diving and a third place finish in gymnastics helped account for the 267 points in the winter season, most by any large school team. Middleton scored just 103.57 points in the winter season but are still in second place. Brookfield Central, Franklin and Hudson rounded out the top five in the large schools division.

Notre Dame was over 100 points behind Shorewood in the Medium Sports Division after the fall sports season but finished with the second most points in the winter season to take the top spot. A state title in girls basketball and state tournament appearance in boys hockey accounted for a majority of the points scored for the Tritons. Whitefish Bay is just four points behind Notre Dame in the standings after a strong fall season and state title in gymnastics helping them to a third place standing in the winter season. Shorewood, Pewaukee and Rice Lake rounded out the top five in the medium schools division.

Edgewood has six Medium School trophies to its name, but the Crusaders enrollment has been under 500 for the past four years dropping it into the Small Schools Division. The Crusaders have won the past two Small Schools Division trophies and have scored the most points in both the fall and winter seasons. The Crusaders won a state title in boys swimming and diving and finished runner-up at state in boys hockey. Accumulating points in boys and girls basketball, gymnastics and girls hockey has led Edgewood to the top of the standings. Aquinas only garnered 90.67 points in the winter season but are still second overall in the small schools division. Lake Country Lutheran, Mineral Point and Randolph round out the top five. Lake Country won a state title in boys basketball and Mineral Point won one in girls basketball. Randolph won a state title in both girls and boys basketball, accounting for all 200 of their points.

Divisions - Starting in 2008-09 schools will be placed in three divisions. The Large School Division is for schools with enrollment over 1000. Medium Schools are classified as 500 to 1000 and Small School division is below 500. In 2007-08 schools with enrollments of 900 or more were in the large school division while schools with enrollments up to 900 were in the small schools division.

Points - Points are awarded for finishes in the state tournament of every team sport. Generally, the top 32 teams in each sport are awarded points. If less than 32 teams participate in a non-bracket sport state meet then those are the only schools that are awarded points. For Co-op teams the total points are divided equally amongst all schools in the co-op.
