Champions crowned at 2022 WIAA State Track & Field Meet

Durand's Parker Schneider won three events at the 2022 WIAA State Track & Field Meet

Team and individual champions were crowned at the 2022 State Track and Field Meet in La Crosse on Friday and Saturday.

The event was headlined by a record-setting performance from Stevens Point senior Roisin Willis. Her time of 2:00.03 in the girls 800-meter run set a new state meet record and also established a new national high school record.

In team results, the Arrowhead boys team captured a dominating title in Division 1 with 55.5 points, well ahead of anyone else. Shorewood edged out Lodi by just one point to claim the Division 2 boys team title. Chetek-Weyerhaeuser ran away with the Division 3 crown, scoring 44 points.

On the girls side, it was West De Pere dominating the competition with 60.33 points. Shorewood captured the Division 2 team title, edging out Freedom. Webster was the champion in Division 3, as the Tigers' 38 points were enough to outscore a crowded top five that saw four other teams finish within two points of the crown.

Turner won the girls wheelchair team title, with Kenosha Indian Trail capturing the boys crown.
