Lucas Meredith, Oakfield baseball: Meredith was a tough out from the plate as Oakfield won a pair of sectional games Tuesday to advance to the WIAA State Tournament. First in the 8-2 sectional semifinal win over Fall River, the junior went two for four with a home run, 4 RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Meredith then went two for three with two more RBIs, a run scored and two walks in the 13-6 win over Iola-Scandinavia in the sectional finals. Meredith's big day at the plate fueled Oakfield to the Division 4 State Tournament, marking the seventh state appearance in program history.

Whitney Myers, Grantsburg softball: Myers pitched a pair of complete games in the Division 4 State Tournament this past weekend. In a 12-5 win over Luther in the semifinals, the freshman hurler struck out seven batters in seven innings. She also went one for three with a walk and three RBIs. Myers then pitched another complete game, recording the 3-2 win over Horicon in the Division 4 State Championship. She limited Horicon to six hits and two runs, one earned. Myers also went one for three with a solo home run in the third inning, proving to be the difference.

Ava Schill, Assumption softball: Schill was dominant from the mound and at the plate as Assumption captured the WIAA Division 5 State Championship this past weekend. In a 5-2 semifinal win over Thorp, the talented junior pitched a complete game, striking out 15 and allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits. She went one for two with a walk and run scored at the plate. Schill then pitched a second complete game, earning the 3-1 victory over Barneveld in the Division 5 State Title game. She struck out six and limited the Eagles to one run on three hits. Schill went two for three from the plate with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored.

Will Schiltz, Eau Claire Memorial boys golf: Schiltz finished 34th as a freshman in 2021 and came into this state meet looking to improve upon that. The sophomore did just that, winning the Division 1 State Title, held at Blackwolf Run, Meadows Course in Kohler. Schiltz shot a one over-par with a two-day, 36-hole total of 145. He shot a three-under par on Day 2 to clinch the win. His three-under, Day 2 performance was four strokes better than Sheboygan North's Mason Schmidtke who finished just one stroke behind Schiltz at the end of the meet.
