Hometown Ticketing Athlete of the Week Nominees: June 13-19

Jack Campion, Milton baseball: The Milton baseball team captured its first ever state title this past week as Campion served as the catalyst, starting in the 8-5 quarterfinal win over Arrowhead. The senior was the winning pitcher on record as he pitched six and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs (one unearned) and striking out three. In the fifth inning, he blasted a two-run home run. In the 8-2 win over Greendale in the semifinals, Campion was hit by a pitch and had an RBI on a sac fly. The Southern Indiana basketball commit then went two for four with a run scored as Milton beat Bay Port 11-1 in the WIAA Division 1 State Championship.

Lauren Hernandez, New Berlin Eisenhower girls soccer: Hernandez netted four goals over two games as Eisenhower captured the WIAA Division 3 Girls Soccer State Title. In the 4-0, semifinal win over Lakeland, the senior midfielder had a lone goal. Hernandez, an Iowa State commit, then netted a hat trick on four shot attempts in the 6-1 win over Notre Dame in the state title match. Hernandez's performance helped lead Eisenhower to its first ever state title in the team's seventh trip to state.

Hayden Konkol, Denmark baseball: Konkol delivered one of the biggest hits in Denmark baseball history this past week as the Vikings captured the Division 2 State Championship. First in a 9-8 win over Pewaukee in the semifinals, the senior outfielder went two for four with a triple, RBI and two runs scored. Denmark scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to go ahead 9-6 going into the last half-inning. Konkol, a St. Cloud State commit, added another two hits and two RBIs in the 6-5 win over Jefferson in the Division 2 state title game. He saved his best at-bat for last as he came to the plate with runners on first and second with one out, tied in the bottom of the seventh. Konkol doubled to right field, driving in the winning run in walk-off fashion.

Zander Rockow, Regis baseball: Rockow has had quite the month of June after committing to play football at the University of Minnesota earlier this month and leading his baseball team to state. In the 14-4 state semifinal win over Oakfield, Rockow went two for four with two RBIs, a walk, a run scored and a stolen base. He also took the mound for two and two-thirds inning of relief work. The junior was the winning pitcher on record as he struck out four batters and allowed one run. Rockow then went three for four with a double and triple and 3 RBIs in the 12-3 win over Bangor in the Division 4 State title game. He added three runs scored and three stolen bases as Regis captured its second ever state title in baseball team history.

Anna Sikorski, Muskego girls soccer: Sikorski was all over the pitch for Muskego as the Warriors captured the WIAA Division 1 State Championship this past Saturday. In the 2-0 semifinal win over De Pere, the sophomore forward accounted for both goals as she netted one herself and assisted on another. In the following 2-1 win over DSHA, Sikorski netted the first goal of the match and kept pressure on the defense as she attempted four shots throughout the match.
