2022 Boys WBCA All-Star Games: Red wins 4 of 5 vs. White counterparts

The 45th annual Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Games were held on Thursday, June 30 at JustAgame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells. 

Results from each of the five contests: 

Division 1: White 107, Red 100


Max Nelson of Appleton North

The White team posted a 107-100 win over the Red squad in the WBCA Division 1 All-Star game Thursday at Just A Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells. 

West Allis Central graduate and Northern Michigan recruit Najashi Tolefree had 23 points to lead the White squad. Air Force recruit Grayson Pritzl of West Allis Central and Valparaiso recruit Max Nelson of Appleton North added 17 points each for the White.

The Red team got 15 points apiece from Terryon Brumby of Racine Case and Jake Fisher of Oconomowoc.

Division 2: Red 124, White 111


Devon Fielding of La Crosse Central

La Crosse Central graduate and Winona State recruit Devon Fielding of La Crosse Central scored a team-best 20 points to help the Red team to a 124-111 victory over the White team in the WBCA Division 2 All-Star game Thursday.

Fielding's high school teammate, forward Noah Compan, contributed 17 points to the Red cause while Noah Feddersen of Menomonie and Colin Hardrick of Wauwatosa West added 14 points each.

Jordan Glenn of Wisconsin Lutheran had 25 points to lead all scorers while his teammate on the White squad, Chris Mitchell of Notre Dame, added 21 points.

Brady Ring of Lodi

Brady Ring of Lodi and Jack Fritz of Columbus each netted 21 points to help the Red squad to a 119-114 win over White team in the WBCA Division 3 All-Star game.

The Red team took a 99-83 lead into the final quarter, but the White team put together a strong rally, outscoring its opponent 31-20. But five different players scored in the final stanza for Red to hold off the rally.

Gus Foster, a UW-Stevens Point recruit from Big Foot, had 21 points to top the White squad. Teammates Landon VanCalster, another Stevens Point recruit from Freedom, added 20 and Connor Coombs, a Carroll University recruit from Edgerton, chipped in 16.

Luke Pautz of Roncalli

Luke Pautz of WIAA Division 4 state-champion Roncalli scored 20 points while teammates Ethan Cole of Winnebago Lutheran and Robby Michael of Sheboygan Lutheran added 15 apiece to lead the Red squad to a 99-96 win over the White in Division 4.

Luke Webb of Elmwood/Plum City and Derek Lindert of Pardeeville added 11 points each for the Red team, which overcame a 44-41 halftime deficit.

Northern Michigan recruit and Sheboygan Lutheran graduate Casey Verhagen scored 30 points to lead the White squad. Carter Olson of Cuba City added 17.

Michael Modahl of Sheboygan Christian

Sheboygan Christian wing Michael Modahl scored 22 points to lead a balanced attack for the Red squad, which led by three points (51-48) at intermission before outscoring its opponent in both the third and fourth periods. 

Brennen Dvorachek of Reedsville scored 17 points, Ashton Swanson of Seneca contributed 13 points and Will Reader of Bangor added 10 for the Red squad, which was coached by Clinton Nemitz and Ryan Budden of Southwestern along with Jacob Bernetzke of Cassville. 

Sam Grieger of WIAA Division 5 state-champion Randolph scored a game-high 28 points for the White squad. Gavin Thimm of Hustisford added 12 points and Chase Ignatius of Barneveld contributed 11.
