Jolly Good Week 6 Player of the Week Nominees

Jerzy Brocker, Shawano

Shawano scored its first victory of the year, and it was a big one that still keeps the Hawks' playoff hopes alive, defeating Winneconne 52-49. Sophomore Jerzy Brocker has really stepped up the last couple weeks, and had a big performance in the victory against Winneconne. He completed 21-of-39 passes for 336 yards and four touchdowns, adding 77 rushing yards with one score on the ground. Brocker was also a stud on defense, returning an interception for a touchdown and also returning a fumble recovery for a score.

Braden Crubel, River Ridge

Braden Crubel was all over the field as River Ridge pulled away from Black Hawk/Warren (IL) 50-26 to remain unbeaten and in control of the Six Rivers Conference. Crubel ran nine times for 96 yards with two touchdowns, caught three passes for 67 yards and two scores, and also threw a 21-yard touchdown in the win. He also recorded a 38-yard punt.

Jake Derezinski, Amherst

Amherst dropped a couple early games but has now won four straight to sit in a tie atop the CWC-Large, downing Weyauwega-Fremont 57-40 in a shootout on Friday. Senior Jake Derezinski scored three different ways, including a couple rushing scores, a receiving touchdown, and a 90-yard kickoff return score. He finished with 11 rushing yards on five catches and also caught two passes for 68 yards.

Camron Mendoza, Beaver Dam

Camron Mendoza was the quarterback for Beaver Dam last year, but when returning All-Conference running back Gabe Klatt was injured prior to the season, Mendoza made a change in the backfield. Moving over to running back, he's gone for nearly 1000 yards so far this year, including a big performance in a 39-27 win against Watertown in the 100th edition of this rivalry. Mendoza carried the ball a whopping 52 times for 309 yards with three touchdowns.

Erik Schmidt, Marquette

Marquette forced some chaos atop the Greater Metro Conference with a comeback 24-21 win over Sussex Hamilton on Friday, as there are now five teams, including both Marquette and Sussex Hamilton, that are tied at 3-1 in league play. Marquette trailed 21-14 at halftime, and it stayed that way until just over five minutes left in the game when the Hilltoppers tied things up. Marquette would win the game on a 51-yard field goal by Erik Schmidt as time expired. In addition to his 51-yard field goal, Schmidt also made all three extra point attempts.
