Week 6 WisSports.net Team of the Week Nominees

Cashton Eagles

Bangor has ruled the Scenic Bluffs Conference for many years, winning every league title since 2014. That run may be coming to an end this season after Cashton scored a 21-7 victory over the Cardinals on Friday night. All of the scoring came in the first half, as Cashton went up 21-0 on.a couple Jacob Huntzicker touchdown passes plus Brett Hemmersbach returning a fumble for a score. The second half was a defensive slugfest, as Cashton's defense came out ahead, limiting Bangor to 135 total yards in the game.

Eau Claire North Huskies

Just two weeks ago, Eau Claire North ended a 46-game conference losing streak dating back to 2014 by defeating Superior. The Huskies scored an even more monumental win in Week 6, defeating Big Rivers power Menomonie 20-6. It marked the first win for North over Menomonie since 1991. The Huskies rolled up 367 rushing yards, including 193 and a score by Cameron Olson plus 123 yards and two touchdowns from Jack Kein.

Oak Creek Knights

For the first time since 2014, Oak Creek defeated neighboring rival Franklin, doing so in dominating fashion as part of a 35-7 victory. The Knights went up 14-0 in the first quarter and led 21-0 at halftime, and never looked back. Quarterback Cade Palkowski threw a couple touchdowns, caught one, and ran for 141 yards in the game. Jackson Phelps added 25 carries for 187 yards and two touchdowns as well. The Knights' defense limited Franklin to just 153 total yards.

Onalaska Hilltoppers

Onalaska remained unbeaten and took a big step towards a Mississippi Valley Conference title with a 35-0 win over previously undefeated Reedsburg on Friday night. The Hilltoppers jumped out early, leading 14-0 at the end of the first quarter. The team pulled away early in the third quarter with a 15-yard touchdown pass from Adam Skifton to Matty Burnette, followed a minute later by a blocked punt touchdown by James Siegel. Reedsburg was held to just over 100 yards of offense in the game.

Wisconsin Lutheran Vikings

Wisconsin Lutheran ended Greendale's 14-game conference winning streak with a 45-29 decision over the Panthers that also kept the Vikings in the league title race and helped them take a big step towards playoff qualification. Josiah Rice was a workhorse for Wisco, carrying the ball 35 times for 249 yards with four touchdowns. Sean Minor added 124 rushing yards while quarterback Zachary Tipton scored a couple short touchdown runs.
