Columbus and Lodi met in a huge top ten showdown in Division 4 for control of the Capitol Conference. Columbus led 21-14 early in the fourth quarter, but pulled away for a 42-14 victory, as junior running back Colton Brunell ran for two scores in the fourth. He was a workhorse all day, carrying it 29 times for 335 yards and three touchdowns in the victory, adding a couple short receptions as well.

Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian lost a 56-42 shootout to Kiel on Friday night, but not for a lack of passing game production. While quarterback Max Breitenbach threw three interceptions in the game, he did complete 35-of-56 passes for 455 yards plus six touchdowns.

While Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian lost to Kiel 56-42 on Friday night, the team did have a new state record set as senior Noah Heinen hauled in 24 catches, breaking the previous state record of 21 set last year by former KLC teammate Casey Verhagen. Not only that, the preliminary receiving yards total of 336 yards is second in state history, just behind the 339 yards, also held by a previous teammate, Colin Girdaukas in the 2020 fall season. Heinen's previous career high for catches was nine, while his previous career high for receiving yards was 119.
