Hometown Ticketing Athlete of the Week Nominees: September 26 - October 2

Demetrius Bergmann, Pepin/Alma

Bergmann and the Pepin/Alma football team improved to 7-0 this past week after a 42-14 win over Blair-Taylor. The junior running back was dominant as he rushed 21 times for 166 yards. Bergmann had three rushing touchdowns of three, thirty and fourteen yards. He added 10 tackles on defense and a 14 yard kickoff return. Pepin/Alma was ranked fifth in last weeks' WSN Football Coaches Poll.

Abbie Dix, Brodhead

Brodhead is ranked fourth in Division 3 in the WVCA Girls Volleyball Rankings and Dix has been a key reason why. The UW-Whitewater commit led the Cardinals to a 3-0 sweep over East Troy this past Tuesday, recording 18 kills, eight digs, five blocks, and three aces. Dix then had 12 kills, 11 digs, four aces, and four blocks as Brodhead swept Big Foot 3-0. The Cardinals are 27-3 overall and 6-1 in Rock Valley Conference play.

Payton Haugen, Brookfield East

Haugen recorded the second lowest score of any golfer this past week during regional play. The freshman golfer shot a two-under par at the Division 1 Homestead regional to earn medalist honors. Haugen's 68 overall score was two strokes better than Cedarburg's Kate Bogenschutz, at the MeeKown Golf Course in Mequon. Her first place finished helped lead Brookfield East to a first place finish as a team.

Arturo Ottum-Cortez, Notre Dame

Ottum-Cortez has been excellent all season in goal for the Notre Dame boys soccer team. Last week the senior goalkeeper allowed just one goal through four games for the Tritons. He began the week with a pair of shutouts over Ashwaubenon and Manitowoc Lincoln. He had one save in the 8-0 win over Ashwaubenon and two saves in the 4-0 win over Manitowoc Lincoln. He then saved four goals and allowed one in a 1-1 tie with Green Bay Preble. Ottum-Cortez finished the week with six saves in a 0-0 tie with Bay Port. Through 13 games, he has allowed just six goals.

Tobias Volkmann, Three Lakes/Phelps

Three Lakes/Phelps relies heavily on Volkmann to find the back of the net in its soccer matches, and the junior forward has delivered. Last week in a 5-1 win over Iron Mountain out of Michigan, Volkmann had two goals and two assists. He added four goals and two assists in a 7-1 win over Amherst over the weekend. Volkmann has netted 27 goals and added 13 assists on the season.
