Dawson Goodman of Chippewa Falls has been selected as the Week 7 Jolly Good Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the Cardinals win a wild one in overtime against River Falls. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 7. A total of 6,634 votes were cast, as Goodman's 2,253 were enough to edge out second place Colton Brunell of Columbus, who tallied 2,127 votes.

One of the wildest endings you'll ever see sent Chippewa Falls to a 20-14 upset win over previously unbeaten River Falls on Friday. Tied at 14 at the end of regulation, River Falls turned it over on their first play of overtime. Chippewa Falls would attempt a potential game-winning field goal, but it was blocked. After bouncing around a few times, the ball ended up in the hands of senior Dawson Goodman, who corralled it and ran 17 yards for the dramatic game-winning touchdown. In addition to playing a strong role on defense, Goodman also finished with 96 yards rushing on 11 carries.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Jolly Good Football Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 8 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
