Level 3 WisSports.net Team of the Week Nominees

Mayville Cardinals

You're not supposed to shutout teams this deep into the playoffs, but Mayville absolutely dominated Racine Lutheran 44-0 in a running clock. Blake Schraufnagel did the damage early on, rushing for a trio of first quarter touchdowns as the Cardinals led 35-0 at halftime. Mayville ran for 385 yards in the game, limiting RaLu to just 30 rushing yards and 44 passing yards.

Onalaska Hilltoppers

Onalaska has advanced to the state semi-finals for the first time in school history, defeating old nemesis Rice Lake 48-22 after blowing open a 20-14 halftime game. Adam Skifton threw for 245 yards and four touchdowns while Brady Kuhn ran for 149 yards and a score. The Hilltoppers will play for their first state finals trip against West Salem, a team they beat 14-13 early in the year, at a to be determined location.

Saint Mary's Springs Ledgers

Saint Mary's Springs is in a familiar place, the state semi-finals, though it was a close call for the Ledgers, who rallied to defeat Coleman 21-20 in Level 3. Springs led 14-6 at halftime but Coleman took a 20-14 lead mid-way through the fourth quarter. The Ledgers put together one final drive, capped by a four-yard JT Koenigs touchdown run with less than a minute remaining, and the ensuing Cole Rottman extra point.

Sussex Hamilton Chargers

In a driving rain most of the game, Sussex Hamilton was able to grind out a 15-13 victory over Arrowhead despite being out-gained 304-201. Arrowhead led 6-0 at halftime, but late in the third quarter, Sussex Hamilton finally got on the board when Nate Kollath hit Lucas Ruiz from 19 yards out. Kollath ran in a touchdown with 5:44 left in the game to put the Chargers up 15-6 after the two-point conversion, and they'd hold on for the win.

West De Pere Phantoms

West De Pere put on a dominating performance, beating host River Falls 38-6 in a Division 2, Level 3 contest. Duke Shovald threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns while Najeh Mitchell ran for 162 yards and two scores. The defense was dominant, holding River Falls to just 74 total yards in the game.
