Kaden Kuester of Monroe has been selected as the Level 3 Jolly Good Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the Cheesemakers advance to the state semi-finals this week. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 3. A total of 7,304 votes were cast, as Kuester's 2,294 were enough to edge out second place Noah Hofmann of Kaukauna, who tallied 1,838 votes.

The duo of Alex Hernandez and Keatin Sweeney gets must of the attention for Monroe, and deservedly so after both are over 1200 rushing yards for a second straight season. However, junior Kaden Kuester put together a breakout performance in the team's 35-0 shutout of West Bend East last week. With Sweeney and Hernandez bottled up (90 combined yards on 22 carries), Kuester came up big to the tune of 158 yards and three touchdowns on just eight carries. He opened the scoring with a 49-yard run in the first quarter and added two more touchdowns in the first half.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Jolly Good Football Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 4 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
