The Wisconsin Boys Volleyball Coaches have released its 2022 Boys Volleyball All-State Selections.

Vinny Coello, a junior outside hitter from Catholic Memorial High School, has been named the 2022 Badger Region / Frisco Mo Boys High School Player of the Year in voting done by Wisconsin boys high school volleyball coaches. The Player of the Year and the All-State Teams are sponsored by the Badger Region Volleyball Association and Frisco Mo. Coello was named First-Team All-Classic 8 by the conference earlier this year, during which time he had 395 kills, a .397 hitting percentage, 67 aces and 168 digs. He was also a vital part of leading Catholic Memorial to the 2022 WIAA State Championship Nov. 5 in Green Bay. During the team’s state run, Catholic Memorial defeated Waukesha West (honorable mention in the state coaches poll), #9 Kettle Moraine, Waukesha Fusion (honorable mention), #6 Middleton, #1 Marquette and #4 Arrowhead. In 2021, Coello was a Second-Team All-State award winner.

The 2022 Gary Sorenson Coach of the Year award was given to Mike Maass of Appleton North High School. This season, Maass led the Lightning to a third-place finish at State, an FVA Championship and a 29-6 record on the season. Appleton North finished the regular season ranked No. 10 in the Coaches Poll.
