Hometown Ticketing Athlete of the Week Nominees: November 21-27

Keagan Jirschele, Mosinee

Jirschele came out of the gates firing on all cylinders for the Mosinee boy's basketball team this past weekend at the Wausau East Classic. The 5'9" junior guard began his season by logging 15 points, six rebounds and five assists as Mosinee held off New London 68-66. Jirschele then went off as Mosinee beat Wausau East 88-72. He netted a high of 34 points while adding ten assists and five rebounds.

Jaquan Johnson, Pius XI Catholic

Pius XI Catholic only had one game in the opening week of the boys basketball season, and Johnson was sensational in it. The Division 1 recruit came two steals shy of a quadruple-double in the 91-83 win over Madison East at the Autism Showcase in Oak Creek. Rated as the twelfth best player in the 2024 class by WSN, Johnson put up a game high 39 points while adding 13 rebounds, 11 assists and eight steals.

McKenna Johnson, Wilmot

Wilmot is 2-0 to start the 2022-23 season, and Johnson has been a huge reason why. After putting up 36 points in the season opener two weeks ago, the junior playmaker filled the stat sheet in the 59-55 win over Racine Lutheran. The Division 1 recruit put up 29 points, 18 rebounds, four steals and three assists while going six of twelve from beyond the arc.

Alayna West, Madison La Follette

West came as close as possible to recording a quadruple-double in the Lancer's 71-63 win over Sun Prairie East. The junior, who holds a Division 1 offer from North Dakota, tallied 17 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and eight steals in La Follette's second win of the season. West has the Lancers sitting at 2-1 on the year, with all three games coming in the tough Big Eight Conference.

Brooklyn Wood, Fond du Lac

The Fond du Lac girls basketball team went 2-0 last week and Wood was the catalyst for the Cardinals throughout the two games. The junior guard began the week and season with 22 points, seven assists and six rebounds in a 74-71 win over Sheboygan North. Wood then had 18 points, five steals and three assists in a 71-41 win over Bay Port. In both contests, Wood was the game's leading scorer.
