Division 1

Most teams in Division 1 have not gotten underway yet, but De Pere sits atop the initial Coaches Poll of the year. The Redbirds are ahead of Brookfield East, Homestead, and last year's champion Neenah. Oshkosh North is already 2-0 on the young season and the Spartans are ranked seventh to begin the year.

Division 2

Wisconsin Lutheran and Pewaukee dominate at the top of the rankings, as the Woodland Conference rivals are once again expected to be among the best in the state. Wisco gets the early edge in the Coaches Poll, just ahead of defending champion Pewaukee. Another Woodland team, Pius XI Catholic, is seventh after an impressive early win over a highly-regarded Franklin squad. Mississippi Valley Conference teams Onalaska and La Crosse Central are both in the top five.

Division 3

West Salem begins the year as the top-ranked squad in Division 3, as defending champion Lake Country Lutheran is outside the top ten after heavy graduation losses from a year ago. Catholic Memorial is second. We've already had a top five showdown in D3, as third-ranked Milwaukee Academy of Science took down fifth-ranked Saint Thomas More 76-58 on Saturday.

Division 4

Cuba City was the preseason number one in Mark Miller's Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook, but the Cubans split a pair of games at the JustAGame Fieldhouse Thanksgiving Classic over the weekend, beating Wisconsin Rapids before falling to Cudahy. Cuba City is third in the initial WSN Coaches Poll, with the Saint Mary's Springs Ledgers sitting at number one to begin the year.

Division 5

Columbus Catholic scored wins over Port Edwards and Assumption at the Cranberry Classic over the weekend and starts the year number one in the WSN Coaches Poll. Also 2-0 this season, with victories over larger teams Northland Pines and Wausau West, is Newman Catholic, who is second. McDonell Central, Fall River, and Hurley round out the top five.
