Week 1 WisSports.net Girls Basketball Coaches Poll

Division 1

Defending state champion Kettle Moraine is the top-ranked team in the first WSN Coaches Poll of the 2022-23 season. The Lasers are 3-0 and winners of their last 14 games; their top win on the early season was against Pewaukee (D2 runner-up last season). Neenah is No. 2 in the rankings. The Rockets are 3-0 after a 64-50 win over Brookfield East (state qualifier last season) at the Kettle Moraine Thanksgiving Classic. The rest of the top five features Hortonville (3-0), Brookfield East (2-1), and Kaukauna (2-0). 

Division 2

Two-time defending state champion Notre Dame is No. 1 in the opening coaches poll of the season. The Tritons played without point guard Trista Fayta in their 68-67 loss to Pewaukee, last year's state runner-up. Pewaukee checks in at No. 2, with its lone loss against defending D1 state champion Kettle Moraine. Rounding out the top five of the coaches poll are Beaver Dam (5-0), Pius XI Catholic (3-0), and New Berlin Eisenhower (3-0). 

Division 3

Freedom, last year's state runner-up, is the top-ranked team in the Week 1 WisSports.net Coaches Poll. The Irish are 2-0 with their last win coming against Clintonville (72-20). Defending state champion Waupun is No. 2 in the coaches poll. The Warriors are 2-1 on the season with their loss coming against D1 No. 4 Brookfield East (62-57) at the Beaver Dam Classic. The rest of the top five includes Lake Mills (3-0) Kewaskum (2-1), and Brillion (1-1). 

Division 4

Aquinas is the top-ranked team in the Division 4 WSN Coaches Poll. The Blugolds are 2-1 with their loss coming against Providence Academy MN, 83-72, last weekend at the St. Thomas Academy Thanksgiving Tip-Off. Randolph, last year's undefeated Division 5 state champion, is 2-0 this season and riding a 33-game winning streak. The rest of the top five features The Prairie School (1-1), Laconia (4-1, state qualifier last season), and Westfield (2-0, state qualifier last season). Defending state champion Mineral Point is 3-0 in the early season and riding a 33-game winning streak. 
 

Division 5

Blair-Taylor is No. 1 in the first WisSports.net Coaches Poll of the season. The Wildcats are 2-0 with their last win coming against Black River Falls, 82-24. Assumption, last year's state runner-up, is 3-0, with its top win against Wabeno/Laona, 41-38, at the Cranberry Classic on Friday. Rounding out the top five are Athens (4-0), Edgar (3-0), and the Prairie Farm (2-0).
