Colfax junior McKenna Shipman has been selected as the Hometown Ticketing Athlete of the Week for the week of February 27 - March 5 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 12,46 total votes this week. Shipman topped all vote getters with 4,437 votes. Franklin's Will Gardner came in second with 4,359 votes.

Shipman and Colfax needed to produce a pair of upsets in order to punch their ticket to the WIAA Girls State Tournament. They did just that. First in a 67-56 win over a top-seeded Phillips team, Shipman recorded 31 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Colfax then squared off with unbeaten Neillsville in the sectional finals. Shipman, just a junior, had 14 points, six rebounds and three steals in a 39-37 win. She knocked down a pair of free throws with 1.7 seconds left, sealing the win.

Shipman and the Vikings will square off with Laconia late today in a WIAA Division 4 State semi-final matchup.
