The 2023 WBCA Division 3 All-State Team features four repeat first-team selections: Madi Dogs of Kewaskum, Sadie Jarmolowicz of Freedom, Kayl Petersen of Waupun, and Megan Schuman of Brillion. 

Dogs led Kewaskum to its first state title in program history and a 24-5 record. The 6-0 wing averaged 14.6 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.8 steals, and 1.9 blocks per contest for coach Mark Maley and the Indians. Dogs, an NCAA Division I NJIT signee, finished her career with 1,145 points and 692 rebounds, helping lead Kewaskum to an 82-20 record. 

Jarmolowicz led Freedom to a sectional final and a 26-2 record. The 5-10 point guard averaged 14.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 3.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game for coach Mike Vander Loop and the Irish. Jarmolowicz, an NCAA Division II Winona State University signee, helped lead Freedom to a state runner-up finish as a junior. She ends her high school career with 1,185 points, 405 rebounds, and 425 assists, helping the Irish to a 101-9 record. 

Petersen led Waupun to a state tournament appearance and a 21-8 record. The 6-1 wing/forward tallied 20.4 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game with 53 three-pointers made for coach Tim Aalsma and the Warriors. Petersen, a Marquette University recruit, helped lead Waupun to the state championship last season, the program’s first state title. She will enter her senior year with 1,407 points, 776 rebounds, 229 assists, and 175 blocks, helping lead the Warriors to a 66-15 record. 

Schuman led Brillion to a 20-5 record. The 6-0 wing averaged 16.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game for coach Jeff Capelle and the Lions. Schuman, an NCAA Division II Winona State University signee, finished her career with 1,686 points and 720 rebounds, helping Brillion to a 76-25 record. 

Lydia Aalsma helped Waupun reach the state tournament and finish the year with a 21-8 record. The 5-10 guard averaged 14 points and 5.4 rebounds per game and connected on 56 three-pointers for coach and father, Tim Aalsma, and the Warriors. Lydia helped Waupun claim its first state title in team history as a freshman. The NCAA Division I prospect has scored 600 points through her first two seasons, helping the Warriors to a 48-11 record. 

Lalani Ellis helped lead Milwaukee Academy of Science to a state runner-up finish and a 23-4 record. The 5-9 guard tallied 20.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 3.9 steals per game for coach Giovanni Riley and the Novas. Ellis, an NCAA Division I prospect, scored over 1,100 points in her career and helped the Novas to a 43-7 record in her final two seasons. She was an honorable mention pick in Division 4 last season. 

Megan Johnson helped lead West Salem to its first state tournament appearance since 1997. The 5-11 forward tallied 14.5 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game for coach Matt Quick and the 26-3 Panthers. Johnson has helped West Salem to a 48-8 record in her first two seasons, scoring 653 points. 

Ashlyn Knapp led Prairie du Chien to a sectional final and a 22-5 record. The 5-9 point guard averaged 12.9 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.4 steals per game for coach Paula Shedivy and the Blackhawks. The NCAA Division III UW-Oshkosh commit also connected on 50 three-pointers. Knapp helped Prairie du Chien to a 63-10 record in her three-year varsity career. 

Keona McGee led Dominican to a sectional appearance and a 23-3 record. The 5-7 point guard averaged 14.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 4.7 steals per contest for coach Kevin Schramka and the Knights. McGee helped Dominican reach the state tournament as a sophomore. She will enter her senior year with 1,093 career points. McGee earned honorable mention recognition last season. 

Bella Pitta led Lake Mills to a sectional appearance and a 24-3 record. The 6-3 forward averaged 15.1 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game for coach Ryan Lind and the L-Cats. Pitta, an NCAA Division I Lipscomb University signee, helped Lake Mills capture the state championship in 2021, the program’s first state title. She helped the L-Cats to a 69-11 record in her three-year varsity career, finishing with 927 points and 861 rebounds. Pitta was an honorable mention pick last season. 

Beautiful Waheed helped Milwaukee Academy of Science finish as the state runner-up. The 5-10 guard averaged 19.4 points, 12.6 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 3.7 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game for coach Giovanni Riley and the 23-4 Novas. Waheed also connected on 51 three-pointers. The NCAA Division I prospect scored over 1,000 points in her career, helping the Novas to a 43-7 record during her final two seasons. Waheed earned honorable mention recognition last season.
