WBCA announces Division 4 Girls Basketball All-State Team

The WBCA Division 4 All-State Team is headlined by three-time first-team picks Jorey Buwalda of Randolph and Macy Donarski of Aquinas. 

Four others are repeat selections: JJ Barnes of The Prairie School, Carly Drew of Westfield, Tierney Madigan of Laconia, and Lindsey Schadewalt of New Glarus. 

Buwalda led Randolph to a regional final appearance and a 20-6 record. The 6-0 forward averaged 21.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.5 steals per game for coach Chad Kaufman and the Rockets. Buwalda led Randolph to the Division 5 state championship last year, the first in program history while going a perfect 31-0. The UW-Milwaukee signee finished her career with 1,926 points and 1,048 rebounds while helping the Rockets to a 92-15 record. 

Donarski, a finalist for Ms. Basketball, led Aquinas to a state runner-up finish and a 28-2 record. The 5-8 point guard averaged 20.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 8.4 assists, and 5.3 steals per game for coach and father, Dave Donarski, and the Blugolds. Macy helped Aquinas reach the state tournament three times in her career with two state runner-up finishes, helping lead the Blugolds to a 96-9 record. The NCAA Division I University of Montana signee finished her high school career with 1,734 points, 413 rebounds, 698 assists, and 471 steals. 

Barnes led The Prairie School to a sectional final appearance and a 24-4 record. The 5-8 guard tallied 20.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.6 steals per game for coach Abby Garchek-Jaramillo and the Hawks. Barnes, an NCAA Division I prospect, has compiled 1,071 points and 449 rebounds through her first two seasons while leading The Prairie School to a 48-7 record. 

Drew led Westfield to a sectional appearance and a 25-2 record. The 5-8 guard averaged 21.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 3.7 steals per game for coach Luke Showen and the Pioneers. Drew also knocked down 83 three-pointers. She has helped lead Westfield to two state tournament appearances and a 72-10 record through her first three seasons. 

Madigan helped lead Laconia to its first state title in program history. The 5-10 guard tallied 12.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.5 steals per game for coach Chris Morgan and the 27-3 Spartans. Madigan helped the Spartans finish as the state runner-up as a freshman. Laconia has a 52-8 record through her sophomore year. 

Schadewalt led New Glarus to a 26-1 record and a sectional appearance. The 5-10 guard averaged 23.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per contest for coach Kevin Parman and the Glarner Knights. Lindsey also knocked down 72 three-pointers. Schadewalt, who holds an NCAA Division II offer, will enter her senior year with over 1,500 points. New Glarus has a 66-14 record through her first three seasons. 

Samantha Davis helped lead Aquinas to a state runner-up finish. The 5-10 wing tallied 15.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.2 steals per game for coach Dave Donarski and the 28-2 Blugolds. The NCAA Division I prospect scored 475 points during her freshman year. 

Payton Morgan helped lead Laconia to its first state championship in team history. The 5-10 guard scored 10.4 points per game and connected on 67 three-pointers for coach and father, Chris Morgan, and the Spartans. Morgan has helped the Spartans to a 52-8 record in her career with two trips to state (state runner-up last season). 

Olivia Olson led Cuba City to a sectional final appearance and a 25-3 record. The 5-7 point guard averaged 17.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 4.0 steals per game for coach Jason Derby and the Cubans. Olson, an NCAA Division I prospect, also connected on 40 three-pointers. She was an honorable mention selection last season. Cuba City is 43-12 through Olson’s first two seasons. 

Kailey Tulachka led Mishicot (21-7) to a state tournament appearance. The 6-0 wing/forward averaged 14.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2.0 steals per contest for coach Mike Garceau and the Indians. Tulachka helped Mishicot to two other state tournament appearances, including winning the state championship in 2021, the school’s first-ever state title. The NCAA Division III UW-Eau Claire commit scored 873 points in her career, helping Mishicot to an 83-17 record. 

Chloe Vogel led St. Mary Catholic to a sectional final appearance and a 26-2 record. The 5-9 guard tallied 17.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.6 steals per game for coach Jeff Chew and the Zephyrs. Vogel ends her high school career with 1,617 points, helping lead St. Mary Catholic to an 83-21.
