Arrowhead senior Mac Wrecke is a repeat selection on the WBCA Division 1 All-State Team

Seniors Demarion Burch of Milwaukee Hamilton, Tyran Cook of Waukesha South, John Kinziger of De Pere and Mac Wrecke of Arrowhead are repeat selections on the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division 1 boys basketball All-State Team.

Burch was instrumental in Milwaukee Hamilton's playoff run. The athletic and ever-active 6-foot-4 wing helped the Wildcats upset top-seeded Middleton in the sectional semifinals by scoring 28 points and dishing out eight assists. The Bradley University recruit averaged 27.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists, and earned first-team all-Milwaukee City Gold Conference recognition.

Cook (6-2) did it all for a mostly inexperienced Waukesha South squad. He led the team in scoring (24.6 ppg), rebounding (10.4 rpg) and assists (3.1 apg) as the Blackshirts finished 13-13. Cook scored more than 1,900 points during his four-year high school career.

Kinziger (6-0), who shared the Mr. Basketball award with Milan Momcilovic of Pewaukee, led De Pere to a 30-0 record and the WIAA Division 1 state championship. The Illinois State recruit averaged 18.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists for De Pere. Kinziger shot 45 percent from three-point range, 93 percent from the foul line and 60 percent from the floor. He finished his four-year career with more than 2,100 points.

Wrecke (6-5) was a big part of the tremendous success Arrowhead achieved this season. The UW-Green Bay recruit and Classic Eight Conference Player of the Year averaged 18.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists while leading Arrowhead to the league title and a runner-up finish in the WIAA Division 1 State Tournament. He played four years of varsity basketball at Arrowhead and finished his high school career with 2,033 points.

Marcus Hall of D.C. Everest, Will Hornseth of De Pere, Gavyn Hurley of Middleton and Luther Smith Jr., of Sussex Hamilton all moved up from honorable mention a year ago.

Hall (6-6) was chosen Player of the Year in the Wisconsin Valley Conference as a junior and senior. He helped D.C. Everest to an 18-8 record by averaging 23.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists. The UW-Green Bay recruit shot 58 percent from the field, 81 percent from the free throw line and 43 percent from three-point range (45 of 104). He completed his high school career with 1,534 points.

Hornseth (6-8) played alongside Kinziger on De Pere's fabulous 30-0 squad. The athletic and skilled junior averaged 16.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Hornseth's size and mobility around the basket made it difficult for opponents to score in the lane. He is one of the state's top juniors and holds NCAA Division I scholarship offers from Green Bay, Illinois State, Northern Iowa, St. Thomas and Toledo.

Hurley (6-6) was voted Player of the Year in the Big Eight Conference the past two seasons. He helped Middleton to the league title and a 25-2 record by averaging 19.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists. The Winona State recruit also averaged 2.2 steals and can play multiple positions on the floor. Hurley finished his high school career with 1,004 points.

Smith (6-2) picked up first-team all-league recognition in the Greater Metro Conference for the second year in a row after leading Sussex Hamilton to a share of the league crown with Marquette and Wauwatosa West. Smith averaged 27.8 ppg for the Chargers and tossed in a career-best 44 points in a game against Brookfield Central.

Xzavion Mitchell of Oshkosh North is a repeat first-team selection, although he was on the Division 2 squad a year ago. MItchell picked up first-team all-Fox Valley Association honors for the second straight season and helped Oshkosh North to a 16-9 record. The 6-6 forward averaged 22.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.8 blocked shots, and will begin his junior season with 1,149 career points.

Senior Jamariea Dalton (6-2) helped Fond du Lac captured the championship in the Fox Valley Association. The Player of the Year in the FVA averaged 21.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists as the Cardinals finished 19-7 after winning just four games a year ago. Dalton completed his high school career with 1,367 points.

Junior Nolan Minessale (6-5) helped Marquette to the Greater Metro Conference title and a sectional-final appearance. The athletic and active wing averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists at Marquette finished 21-7. Minessale was voted Player of the Year in the Greater Metro.
