Bahr was clutch offensively over the two Division 4 state tournament games for Luther this past weekend, leading the Knights to its first state title in program history. In a 79-51 win over Whitehall in the D4 semifinals, Bahr poured in a cool 16 points and added seven rebounds in 24 minutes of play, helping lead the Knights to the D4 title game on Saturday. There, Luther met Kenosha St. Joseph for a gold ball. The 6'7" junior had just six points at half where Luther was up 25-22. Bahr then found his groove after the intermission. He scored 22 points on 7 of 10 shooting and 4 of 6 from three in the second half, pushing Luther's lead to double-digits that the Lancers were unable to overcome. For the game, Bahr finished with 28 points, seven rebounds and went 9 of 15 from the field.

Kinziger capped his prep career with an unbeaten season, state championship, and Mr. Basketball award this past weekend. Friday night the Illinois State commit scored 15 points and added nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block as De Pere advanced past Kettle Moraine in a Division 1 state semifinal matchup. Later that evening, Kinziger was presented the Mr. Basketball in Wisconsin in front of the Kohl Center audience, sharing those honors with Pewaukee's Milan Momcilovic. Saturday, De Pere squared off with Arrowhead in the D1 title game. A big second half led the Redbirds to a 69-49 victory. Kinziger had a game high 24 points, going 8 of 13 from the field. He added three assists, two rebounds and two steals, capping off his incredible prep career. The Redbirds finished a perfect 30-0, being the only team to record 30 wins in state history. It was the first gold ball for the program since 1934.

Krach isn't the first or second scoring option for the Newman Catholic boys basketball team, but knows how to perform in high profile situations, having played quarterback for the 8-Player Championship football team just a few months ago. In a Division 5 state semifinal matchup with Royall, the 6'2" senior scored 11 points on four of eight from the field and added seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks in the 52-42 victory. He then scored a team high 21 points in the championship game against McDonell Central. Krach had 16 of those points, including three, three pointers in the first half giving the Fighting Cardinals that spark. Krach added seven rebounds and was tasked with guarding McDonell Central star guard Eddie Mittermeyer at times. Newman won 66-54 to capture its first ever gold ball in the boys basketball program's history.

Lorenz is one of the best players in the Class of 2023 in the state and got to chance to showcase his skills in front of a state-wide audience for the second straight year this past weekend. Boy did he not disappoint. Brillion captured the WIAA Division 3 State Championship after winning two games by a combined eight points. First in the semifinals, the Lions eked out a 57-55 win over Lakeside Lutheran. Lorenz finished with 25 points, 11 rebounds, six blocks and three assists. Brillion then squared off with favorite West Salem in the D3 title game. Lorenz again dominated, going for 26 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks, three steals and three assists, leading Brillion to a 61-55 victory. Lorenz's 10 blocks over the two games broke his own Division 3 state tournament record from last year.

Momcilovic capped a great week and incredible career by leading Pewaukee to its third straight WIAA State Championship this past weekend. The Iowa State commit began his weekend by scoring a game high 32 points and adding 11 rebounds in the semifinal matchup with Nicolet. Every single one of those points was needed as the Pirates survived a last second shot by the Davion Hannah to advance with a 58-56 win. Later that Friday night, Momcilovic received recognition for winning Mr. Basketball in the state of Wisconsin, co-winning with De Pere's John Kinziger. Saturday Pewaukee squared off with Whitnall in the D2 championship. The super senior again led all scorers with 29 points, including going on a 10-0 run himself in the second half. He added nine rebounds and three assists in his final game as a Pewaukee Pirate.
