Milwaukee Hamilton's Murchison selected as state's top senior post player

Simeon Murchison of Milwaukee Hamilton has been selected as the top senior Post Player as part of the WSN Senior Basketball Awards.

A 6-foot-9 post player with length, Murchison picked up first-team all-league recognition in the Milwaukee City Gold Conference after helping Milwaukee Hamilton to a 21-7 record and a spot in the WIAA Division 1 sectional finals.

An active big man on both ends of the floor, Murchison averaged 19.1 points and 10.7 rebounds for Hamilton as a senior after sitting out his junior year due to WIAA transfer rules. He played as a sophomore at Milwaukee Bay View.

Murchison owns a NCAA Division I scholarship offer from Milwaukee.

Finalists for the award were Murchison, Peter Lattos of West Salem, Robert Peters of West Allis Hale, Caleb Glaser of Appleton East and Chandler Batchelor of Dodgeville. 

Past winners of the award include JJ Paider of Neenah (2022), Cade Meyer of Monroe (2021), Grant Manke of Bangor (2020), David Skogman of Waukesha West (2019), Grant Basile of Pewaukee (2018), Owen Hamilton of Prescott (2017), Taurus Adams of Brown Deer (2016), Diamond Stone of Dominican (2015), Davante Jackson of Brown Deer (2014), Luke Fischer of Germantown (2013), and Luke Heller of D.C. Everest (2012).
