Below are the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week Nominees for this week. Voting is open until Thursday at 2:00 pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Athlete of the Week Nominees: April 17-23

Ben Book, Brookfield Academy

Book took home top medalists honors at a pair of meets this past week for the Brookfield Academy boys golf teem. Competing first at the Midwest Classic Conference Mini-Meet #2, the junior golfer shot a 39. His 39 was one stroke better than the runner-up at the New Berlin Hills Golf Club. Book then competed at the Catholic Memorial Crusader Classic at the Broadlands Golf Club in North Prairie. He shot a 70 overall and finished four strokes ahead of the second place finisher.

Addison Braun, Waupun

Braun has been outstanding in her freshman season of softball with Waupun. Last week, the freshman hurler took the mound in relief in an 11-1 win over Plymouth. She struck out two of the three batters she faced. Braun then took the mound for a start against Two Rivers and was dominant in the 11-0, five-inning win. She pitched a no-hitter on the day, striking out 11 batters and walking four. From the plate, she went two of three with a double.

Dylan Bredlow, Johnson Creek

Bredlow was nearly impossible to get out from the plate this past week as the Johnson Creek baseball team picked up three wins. First in a 14-3 win over Markesan, the junior went four of four with three RBIs, three runs scored and three stolen bases. He followed that up by going three of five with three RBIS, two runs scored and two stolen bases in a 19-1 win over Rio. Bredlow picked up the win on the mound, pitching four innings and allowing just one hit while striking out 11 batters. Bredlow finished his week going two of three with three RBIs, 3 runs scored, two walks and two stolen bases in a 25-1 win over Rio. On the week he had nine hits, nine RBIs, scored eight runs and stole seven bases.

Sydney Stauner, Barron/Cumberland

Stauner couldn't be stopped on the pitch this past week, fueling the Barron/Cumberland girls soccer team to three wins. First in a 6-0 shutout of Amery, the senior midfielder had four goals and one assist. She followed that up with three more goals and two assists in a 6-0 win over Hayward. Stauner finished her with with four goals and an assist in a 15-0 win over Phillips. On the week, Stauner had 11 goals and four assists over three matches.

Austin Wienke, Whitefish Bay

Wienke was a run producing machine in two games for Whitefish Bay this past week in a pair of Northern Shore conference games. The senior slugger started by going three of four with a home run and six RBIs in a 16-6 win over Port Washington. Wienke then went two of three with a triple and three RBIs in a 12-2 win over Cedarburg. Wienke is tied for the lead in the state with three home runs and is one of the better run producers on one of the best teams.
