Players are recognized each week on WSN, with the a boys and girls winner of the Pat Richter Award at the end of the season to the best three-sport athlete of the year.

Volleyball Honors: Two-year second-team All-SWC selection (junior and senior)... named team MVP as a senior... ended career with 1,300 assists as a setter... coached by Vicki Scott... 

Basketball Honors: Three-year varsity performer for coach Paula Shedivy and the Blackhawks... Ashlyn was named second-team All-SWC as a junior... first-team all-conference as a senior... SWC Co-Player of the Year as a senior... team captain... semi-finalist for state's top senior defender by WSN... WBCA Division 3 All-State... chosen to play in the D3 WBCA All-Star Game... she helped the Blackhawks to a 63-10 record in her career, winning three conference championships, and two regional championships... the 5-9 point guard averaged 12.9 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.4 steals per game with 50 three-pointers made for the 22-5 Blackhawks; PDC lost to Waupun (50-40) in a sectional final... Knapp is committed to play for head coach Brad Fischer and the UW-Oshkosh Titans (NCAA Division III)...

Favorite Sport (and why): "I have loved the sport of basketball since I was a little kid going to ballgames and watching my older sister play. I have always loved how fast the pace of the game is and the competitiveness of the sport. It has taught me values such as the importance of hardwork and being a good teammate."

Best Part of High School Sports (and why): "My favorite part of high school sports is competing and making memories with my teammates as well as getting to represent my community."

Best Advice from a High School Coach: "Coach Shedivy always reminded my basketball team to never take the time you get to put on a jersey for granted and to play for the name on the front of our jerseys."

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: "My most memorable moments of high school sports were winning a regional championship my sophomore year with my sister, and making it to the sectional final my senior year, both in basketball."

Best Part of Playing Three Sports: "I love playing three sports because it keeps me active and motivated. I also love the different relationships I have made in each of my three sports."

Toughest Part of Playing Three Sports: "It can be challenging at times to make time for things like schoolwork and other things I enjoy doing. Having good time management helps me balance these things."

Favorite Opponent (and why): "I have always enjoyed competing against Platteville as they have been our biggest rival in the conference (SWC)."

Toughest Individual You’ve Competed Against (and why): "Kayl Petersen from Waupun in the sectional finals for basketball this year. She is a very versatile and well-rounded player."

Most Admired High School Teammate (and why): "My older sister Makenzie. She is two years older than me and I got to play with her my sophomore year. She is one of the hardest workers I know and we have always pushed each other to be our best selves."

College Plans: "I will be attending UW-Oshkosh to major in Biochemistry and play on the women’s basketball team."

Activities Outside of Sports: "I enjoy going tubing on the river, playing tennis, reading a good book, going to the gym, and hanging out with my friends and family."

I Find it Relaxing to: "Spend time with my family and friends on the river in the summer."

Favorite Movie: "The Sandlot and Top Gun are my two favorite movies."
