rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week: Anabella Valdivia, Racine Horlick

Racine Horlick sophomore Anabella Valdivia has been selected as the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week for the week of May 1-7 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 3,132 total votes this week. Valdivia topped all vote getters with 1,486 votes. Northwestern's Ellie Peterson came in second with 931 votes.

The Racine Horlick girls soccer team won four matches this past week and Valdivia was a big reason why. The sophomore forward began her week by netting three goals and adding an assist in a 4-2 win over Kenosha Indian Trail. She followed that up with four goals and three assists in a 9-1 win over Racine Lutheran. Valdivia then added another hat trick and three assists in a 7-1 win over River Valley and finished her week with one goal and one assist in a 2-0 win over Lodi. For the week, Valdivia had 11 goals and 8 assists, accounting for 19 of the 22 goals scored by her team.
