James Ford, Jr. of Beloit Memorial has been selected as the Week 4 Jolly Good Football Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the team score a key conference victory. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 4. A total of 8,945 votes were cast, as Ford, Jr.'s 3,523 were enough to edge out second place Zach Hallbach of Chilton, who tallied 3,093 votes.
Beloit Memorial pulled even in its conference record with a 24-21 victory over Union Grove on Friday night. Sophomore running back James Ford, Jr. had a huge game, rushing 27 times for 287 yards and a touchdown. On the season, Ford, Jr. has 649 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground as the Purple Knights are 2-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
